Research Psychiatric Center Receives 2012 Missouri Quality Award
October 24, 2012
Research Psychiatric Center—part of HCA Midwest Health System, Kansas City’s largest healthcare network and private-sector employer—is a recipient of the 2012 Missouri Quality Award (MQA). The MQA is the official state recognition for excellence in quality leadership; the annual awards are given by the Excellence in Missouri Foundation. The MQA is modeled after the prestigious Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award and is recognized as one of the strongest state-level quality award programs in the country. Research Psychiatric Center is the only Kansas City-area healthcare facility to receive one of the two statewide 2012 Missouri Quality Awards and the only freestanding behavioral health facility to ever win the MQA.
Research Psychiatric Center provides a full range of inpatient psychiatric services, including group and individual therapies, expressive therapy, as well as social service, nursing and pharmacy support.
“This honor is the direct result of the hard work of professionals who help ensure the delivery of excellent healthcare to patients,” says Mel Lagarde, president, HCA Midwest Health System. “Research Psychiatric Center stands out for providing compassionate, evidence-based behavioral healthcare, a real asset in the Kansas City area.”
“I would like to thank each and every one of the Research Psychiatric Center staff, physicians and other stakeholders for their hours of hard work and preparation to demonstrate that RPC serves its mission of providing excellence in psychiatric care,” says Richard Failla, chief executive officer, Research Psychiatric Center. “The MQA is also emblematic of our unwavering commitment to provide quality and accessible patient care to meet the ever-expanding behavioral health needs of adolescent, adult and senior patients in the Greater Kansas City metro area.”
Research Psychiatric Center will be honored at an awards presentation banquet on Nov. 15, 2012, during the Excellence In Missouri Conference.
